While we love our girls’ trips full of pampering and nights out, sometimes the best vacation is one with your significant other — unplugged from family, friends, and work. Traveling is one of the easiest ways unwind from your busy day-to-day, and dedicate time to exploring a new place (and bonding!) with your SO.

Whether you’re looking for a weekend of city living, or to unplug on a quiet beach, these 10 destinations are on our list to book two tickets to ASAP.

1. For adventure seekers… Kenya

Kenya requires a couple of long travel days, but once you arrive you’ll truly be in another world. Check into Cottars 1920’s Safari Camp and enjoy the comforts of a hotel (think sunset massages and candlelit dinners) combined with a safari adventure. The hotel has it’s own conservancy and the Tanzania Serengeti is less than a mile away.

2. For California sun… Palm Springs

If you’re in the mood for desert sun, palm tree views, and long days of floating in the pool, Palm Springs is a must visit. The Sparrows Lodge is the perfect hideaway for a romantic weekend away from tourists with an outdoor fire pit, bikes for hotel guests, and private cottages. For a glimpse of the Palm Springs royalty, stop into the Parker Mini Bar for a date night cocktail alongside celebrity guests.

3. For a taste of the city… Lower Manhattan, New York

New York City can be a little overwhelming, but there are unique (quieter) neighborhoods on the island of Manhattan that overflow with charm. Opt for an Airbnb in the Village (we love this one) and spend your weekend in hole-in-the-wall coffee shops, small speakeasies, and wandering down cobblestone streets.

4. For small-town charm… Woodstock, Vermont

Woodstock, Vermont is a charming town at any time of year. In addition to the historical covered bridges, the area offers quaint town squares, homey bed and breakfasts, and acres of hiking. For a full weekend of pampering, check into the Woodstock Inn — swimming in the summer, skiing in the winter, and a year-round onsite spa.

5. For (margarita filled) beach days… Tulum

If you’re a book on the beach kind of couple, Tulum, Mexico is a perfect destination to relax and recharge. The Caribbean seaside town is just south of the more well-known tourist (and spring breaker) destinations and offers a slower pace — with the same white sand beaches and delicious margaritas. It’s hard to go wrong with a hotel — Betulum, The Beach Tulum Hotel, and Coco Tulum are some of our favorites and all offer private beaches, restaurants, and excursions.

6. For a private tree house… Atlanta, GA

We are obsessed with the Atlanta treehouse. Not only does the secluded home look like something out of a fairytale, it’s only a quick drive into downtown Atlanta and a vibrant cultural scene. After spending a day at Skyline Park’s nostalgic attractions and sampling their soft pretzels and hot dogs (ultimate #comfortfood), take in a show at the Tabernacle or make a reservation at St Cecilia for date night.

7. For a taste of the islands… Bermuda

Bermuda is the perfect balance of island life without a Spring Break vibe. The tiny island is just off the coast of the Carolinas and a quick flight from any East Coast city. Rather than tiki bars and margaritas, the British island is peppered with English pubs and hotels offer afternoon tea. Opt for the popular Hamilton Princess Hotel to be close to shopping in town or Grotto Bay Beach Resort for a secluded compound and cave spas.

8. For around the world travel… Cambodia

If you’re looking to get out of your comfort zone and explore a new culture with your significant other, Cambodia is a beautiful destination to add to your list. Lodging, transportation, and dining costs are all really affordable (think $15 for a hotel room and $2 for dinner) and you are truly in another world. Siem Reap is a popular city destination and home to the amazing Angkor Wat ruins.

9. To get back to the outdoors… Maui, Hawaii

Hawaii is a classic destination for romance for good reason. The islands offer miles of secluded beaches, rainforest trails, and a rich local culture. Maui offers off-the-beaten-path Airbnbs (we love this one) to make your home for a week. Cook dinner together and share a glass of wine outside.

10. For colorful culture… Cartagena, Columbia

Cartagena, Colombia is a city that feels both Spanish and Caribbean. Located on the Caribbean Sea, the city offers travelers pristine white sand beaches to relax in the sun on during the day and a lively and colorful downtown to explore. Hotel Caribe is a centrally located home base for exploring both the coastline and the town.
