Do you know how hard it is to pick only ten Instagrammable spots in San Diego? Seriously, walk around the city for ten minutes (especially if you’re in an adorable neighborhood like North Park), and you’ll probably spy at least ten ’gram-worthy scenes. But we took the challenge and rounded up 10 spots not to miss in America’s Finest City!
1. Communal Coffee
Start your morning (and Instagram feed) off right with brews and blooms! Known for its iconic “Coffee and Flowers” signage, this cute shop is actually home to two businesses: Communal Coffee (lavender latte for the win!) and Native Poppy flower boutique.
2335 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104
2. Sunset Cliffs
Sunset Cliffs National Park, located along the western shore of Point Loma, is a favorite location for wedding photos, sunset shoots (duh), and Instagrams alike.
1253 Sunset Cliffs Blvd, San Diego, CA 92107
3. Pigment
Build-your-own succulent station? Check. Instagrammable pink wall? Check. Funny slogans on adorable objects? Check. This clever gift shop in North Park may be the No. 1 Instagrammable place in San Diego.

4. Balboa Park
Whether you love photographing art museums, beautiful flowers, adorable animals, or historic architecture, Balboa Park has it all! This 1,200-acre park has been designated a National Historic Landmark and contains multiple museums, the famous San Diego Zoo, botanical gardens, and more. Don’t know where to start? Try the park’s highlight tour.
5. Hammond’s Gourmet Ice Cream
Can’t ever decide which ice cream flavor to get? Treat yourself to a whole flight of ice cream at Hammond’s! Just be sure to enjoy your selections (and get your shot in) before they melt.

6. Kindred
Kindred is a favorite place in San Diego to grab cocktails, but they also serve food, including weekend brunch. The menu is all vegan, if you’re looking for that, but it’s delicious even if you’re not.

7. Old Town San Diego
For a mix of history, culture, pretty corners to photograph, and delicious Mexican food, visit Old Town San Diego! This historic neighborhood is also a designated State Park, which traces the history of San Diego from its first inhabitants nearly 9,000 years ago to now.
8. The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch
You’ll have to drive about 40 minutes north of San Diego for this one (without traffic, so plan ahead!), but in the spring, it is beyond worth it. These gorgeous flower fields in Carlsbad are open from March to May; check annually for open dates.
5704 Paseo Del Norte, Carlsbad, CA 92008
9. Holy Matcha
You probably recognize the pink and green decor of Holy Matcha if anyone you follow on Instagram has ever visited San Diego. This bright spot is also in … you guessed it … North Park.
3118 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104
10. Artelexia
What Instagram city guide would be complete without a neat street mural to pose in front of? You can find this colorful “You Are Radiant” mural outside Artelexia, but the Mexican gift shop has plenty to check out inside as well.
