Ever wanted to work for The Everygirl or The Everymom? Does being a part of an ever-evolving team and growing start-up excite you? Well now is your chance — we’re looking for some new faces and new talent to join our team at The Everymom here in Chicago!

1. Managing Editor for The Everymom

Are you hyper organized, excited at the thought of leading a team, thrive when it comes to big picture thinking, and your heart starts to race when you’re up against a deadline? Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of mothers everywhere? Do you want to be a part of a creative team and share your experiences with other moms? Then you might be the woman we need for this role.

We’re looking for a big personality to join our small and growing team at The Everymom. This full-time position will involve working side by side with our Senior Content Editor to run the ship at The Everymom. Together, you’ll pitch, write, organize, and manage high-performing, engaging content for The Everymom.

It could also include marketing and growth strategy, producing photo shoots, traveling to cover stories, and more.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and managing monthly editorial calendar – managing all pitches, having a database of ideas, assigning, keeping track of deadlines, etc.
  • Control schedules and enforce deadlines (for writers, photographers, designers etc.)
  • Lead full-time and part-time personnel with your sparkly but commanding personality
  • Final look at all articles and scheduling to go live including coming up with headlines, sourcing images, formatting the article, etc.
  • Manage organization and timeline of sponsored stories
  • Sourcing relevant, inspiring home tours to be f
  • eatured on the site
  • Sourcing relevant, inspiring career profiles to be featured on the site
  • Weekly meetings with team to analyze content and traffic performance, goals, metrics
  • Schedule team meetings
  • Content creation including writing, shopping articles, career profiles, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop required
  • Editorial experience or working in a content management system like WordPress preferred

Less frequently

  • Attending events or sponsored programs on behalf of the brand

HOURS:
40+ hours per week; a mix of working remote and in Chicago office

2. Associate Editor for The Everymom

Do you want to be a part of a creative team and share your experiences with other moms? Do you feel like you have so much to say — but no one will listen? Join The Everymom team!

We’re looking for a big personality to join our small and growing team at The Everymom. This full-time position will involve working closely with our Managing Editor and Senior Content Editor to pitch, write, organize, and manage high-performing, engaging content for The Everymom, as well as manage content for our social media channels including Instagram. It could also include marketing and growth strategy, producing photo shoots, traveling to cover stories, and more.

Given the size of our ever-growing start-up, you’ll quickly see you have your hands in a lot more than that. You’ll work closely with the editorial team to draft and manage The Everymom newsletter, social channels including Instagram, giveaways, sponsored content, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Pitching and writing multiple story ideas per week relating to motherhood — ideally with a witty, honest approach (pregnancy, life with children, balancing career and motherhood, partner and marital topics, cooking, living, traveling with kids, etc.).
  • Pitching and producing daily content for our Instagram (experience required)
  • Brainstorm with editorial team on creative ways to integrate branded content
  • Sourcing images, formatting stories to be presented in the most engaging, helpful way
  • Sourcing and linking relevant, stylish products for shopping posts to meet quarterly revenue goals
  • Copywriting headlines or full articles when needed, sourcing pull-quotes in stories, linking up products for shopping posts
  • Researching trending topics and stories
  • Work with assistant editor for strategic newsletter development
  • Manage and track performance on assigned social channel of The Everymom —  one (or more) of the following: Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop required

Less frequently

  • Attending events or sponsored programs on behalf of the brand

40+ hours per week; a mix of working remote and in Chicago office

3. Editorial Assistant at The Everymom and The Everygirl

Are you a Miranda-Priestly-in-training with a knack for wit and a thirst for staying up-to-date on both fashion trends and political headlines? Are you equal parts beauty guru, Netflix aficionado, and meal-prep master? Do you have a lot to say on topics like motherhood, women’s rights, culture, society, beauty, fashion, wellness, careers, and more? Join The Everygirl Media Group!

The Everymom team is looking for a talented editorial assistant to join their growing staff. Editorial assistants hold a variety of roles — from newsletter designing, social caption writing, photo sourcing, article writing, and culture discussing, all the way to high-profile interviewing, Instagram Story-ing, coffee drinking, and fashion trend covering. The ideal candidates have a constant finger on the pulse of both social and political issues AND pop culture — we do a little bit of everything here, and the ideal candidates will have an interest in keeping our readers up to date on all the above.

Given the size of our ever-growing start-up, you’ll quickly see you have your hands in a lot more than that. You’ll work closely with the editorial team to draft and manage newsletters, social channels, giveaways, sponsored content, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Editorial

  • Assistant to the managing and senior editors at The Everymom and The Everygirl — to organize and produce daily content for TheEverymom.com and TheEverygirl.com
  • Pitching and writing articles relevant to our readership of career-driven millennial women
  • Writing interview questions and introductions for career profiles, home tours, putting content into back end of WordPress, etc.
  • Sourcing pull-quotes in stories
  • Sourcing and linking products for shopping posts
  • Any research or writing senior editors may need
  • Researching trending topics, stories, writing newsworthy stories on the spot
  • Writing weekly round-up stories (should be comfortable writing for any section of the site and rely on research and interviews to do so)
  • Assist with photo shoots (includes picking up and returning product, set-up and break-down, styling, etc.)
  • Stepping in when a senior editor or manager is out

Less frequently

  • Attending events or sponsored programs on behalf of the brand

Social

  • Work with The Everymom associate editor to create, organize, manage, and post social media content; draft copy and manage scheduling of daily posts)
  • Stay abreast of key industry trends, competitive insights and emerging social media / marketing / e-commerce technologies –> you tell US what’s new and next
  • Develop and maintain social media partnerships and content swaps with various partners

 

HOURS:

  • 40+ hours per week; a mix of working remote and in Chicago office

LOCATION:
