Shopping for swimsuits is the worst. No matter what size you are, everyone feels uncomfortable in a fitting room trying on a small piece of fabric over your bra and underwear (because ew). It’s almost impossible to feel confident in those tiny rooms with mirrors I swear are meant to make you look worse.
But then, along came the magic of online bathing suit shopping, and summer was changed forever, right?! Not exactly. Plus-size swimwear options have been few and far between until recently. If it was cute, the prices were astronomical (and not worth it unless you live in sunny California or Florida and swim at least once a week — jealous). If the price was right, it was unflattering and made for someone who wanted to hide their body instead of embracing it. No thanks.
