Oh fall. The season of crisp blue sky mornings, the smell of Carmel Apple Ciders (Seriously, the best Starbucks drink. Boo you, PSL!), off the shoulder chunky sweaters, midnight bonfires, and Fashion Week. When I was in high school, I would sneak into the bathroom during 4th period AP European History to watch the runways live while my classmates were stuck learning about the Renaissance. If you haven’t guessed already, I live for Fall Fashion Week. There’s just something so magical about the fact that when the days get a little shorter, and the air gets a little bit colder, we collectively turn our attention to fashion and regard it as Art.
The runways may be a little avant garde for most, Fashion Week’s street style is always spectacular. Bloggers, socialites, off duty models and celebrities almost always hit the mark of being chic while still sporting acceptable outfits for normal interactions in society. (I want that neon green feather skirt I saw on the runway too, but I just think I would get weird stares at Whole Foods…) Lucky for us, most street styles can be budget friendly as well! Here are my favorites!
1. Orange Is The New Black

Have you heard? This cheery color has been spotted all over the concrete jungle! Although Eva Chen’s ensemble might be a little too monochromatic for the work place, but I can see this color all over your fall wardrobe! I love that it’s seasonal and versatile without being too ‘in your face’.
2. The Go-To Athliesure White Crop

Move over, plain white tee. Hello, white crop! This comfortable look is simple, chic and oh so easy to find. Pair with high waisted leggings and a leather jacket, and you could go from barre to the bar!
3. Chic Culottes + Statement Heels

How freakin’ adorable is this combo? Ladylike but still so badass, this look can be rocked in the board room and the streets of Fashion Week. The ultimate tip for culottes: know your proportions! They should hit mid calf, and should resemble an A-Line skirt to be flattering!
4. Hold The Press, Velvet’s Back

Yeah, you heard it right. Featuring deep rich jewel tones, this season’s velvet is sophisticated and tailored. Step away from your tried-and-true black velvet and go for ruby, emerald or deep violet this fall and holiday season.
5. Menswear Inspired Blazers

Borrow from the boys and sport this trend that has been all over your Instagram feed! The boxy feel of these blazers pairs really well with softer feminine trousers. More casual? Toss on an oversized knotted white tee under the blazer, leggings, and slip on loafers for that weekend brunch!
6. High Waisted Trousers For Mile Long Legs

I’m obsessed with this look. It’s super simple, and makes you look effortlessly put together. The only challenge? Figuring out which neutral color you need these pants in. (PS: A good tailor is ESSENTIAL for this look!)
7. Dusty Blush Is Your New Best Friend.

2017 saw so much Millennial Pink, it’s only fair to give a dusty pink a chance. This hue has been having so much airtime on the ramp and off. The great thing about it is how well it works with all skin tones. You can’t go wrong!
