1. Angra dos Reis, Brazil

Angra dos Reis is about a two hour drive west of Rio de Janeiro and encompasses hundreds of small islands just off the Brazilian coast. A handful of premium hotels sit right on the ocean, and the average nightly rates in the area are less than $100 (!!). After checking in, spend your honeymoon relaxing on one of the dozens of beaches, hiking the nearby coastal forests, or exploring the shops and restaurants downtown.

2. Kep, Cambodia

If you’re looking to get out of your comfort zone and off the grid for your honeymoon, head to the province of Kep at the southernmost tip of Cambodia. The landscape provides guests with the opportunity to sail on the calm water of the Gulf of Thailand and hike through butterfly-filled rain forests. Up until the 1970s, Kep was a popular resort town for wealthy French and Cambodian travelers, and a lot of the original architecture still remains.

Arles and Camargue Natural Regional Park are located on the south shore of France between Montpellier and Marseille. The city of Arles is a true city, with a rich history of inspiring some of most well known artists with the city’s Rhone River views. The wetlands of Camargue sit just south of Arles and are home to one of the largest flamingo populations, wild horses, and roaming black bulls — you can explore the best of both city and nature.

7. The Riviera Maya

The Riviera is a stretch of the Mexican coast line between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, just south of Cancun. The Yucatan Peninsula offers a type of honeymoon for every couple — from all inclusive resorts close and downtown nightlife to private retreats to relax and rejuvenate. Whatever your taste, the long stretches of white sandy beaches are a welcome respite from the stress of wedding planning.

St. Anton is nestled in the Tyrolean Alps in Austria and is one of the villages credited with having a hand in the invention of alpine skiing. If you and your beau are looking for a honeymoon with a lively social scene, the après-ski scene is in St. Anton is a perfect destination. You’ll meet locals and other travelers in the lively village during ski season.

9. Big Sur, California

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is a popular destination for hikers and campers, located along the Pacific Coast Highway just south of Monterey. Although the coastline is steep and rocky (and pretty scary to drive along), there is a handful of amazing places to stay with ocean views. Big Sur offers amazing scenery, hiking trails, and cooler, cozier temperatures than Southern California’s heat.

10.The Serengeti, Tanzania

The northern half of Tanzania is home to Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro, two nature preserves filled with amazing wildlife and beautiful scenery. The hotels in the area offer safari rides for guests to explore the landscape and get close to giraffes, elephants, and lions. Visit between the months of June and October for the driest weather to explore and relax outdoors.
